Since going Paleo my family has fallen even more in love with our grill. Paleo and grilling just work well together. The past couple of years I've even been stepping outside my grilling comfort zone more and more. Grilling things I'd never thought to have grilled before and trying new flavor combinations. I have to say I'm pretty thrilled with the results of most of my flavor experiments. In the past I'd never have thought to grill fruit, but it's amazing. Grilling fruit and adding it to traditionally savory dishes? Brilliant. Oh yes, and? New rule: every burger recipe for the rest of forever must contain grilled pineapple. OK, maybe more of a guideline. It's a seriously delicious combination though. This Smoky Grilled Pineapple Burger is always a crowd-pleaser at my house. It's not only Paleo, but Whole30, glutenfree, lower carb, and clean eating friendly. I promise you won't miss the bun! paleo, grilled pineapple burger, smoky
Day 1 of my 30 Day No Repeat Fitness Challenge is here! I'm excited to shake things up, I'm ready to push past this 'stuck point', and I'm willing to work my ass off!
First, my Starting Stats:
Waist 30.5
Right Thigh 19.75
Right Calf 13.75
Right Arm 11.75
Bust 40
Bust 40
Hips 40.75
For this challenge, from Monday February 27th through Saturday March 31st (taking Sundays off this is 30 days of actual workouts), I will:
- Workout 6 days a week and not repeat a single workout the entire time. Every workout will be something different. I'll be focusing mostly on my fitness DVD collection, never repeating a DVD.
- Track my food Monday through Saturday each week (I won't take Sunday as a cheat day, simply a day to take a break from tracking). If you're interested in seeing my daily eats follow my posterous.
- Blog or vlog with the details of each day, most likely posted as weekly re-caps on Mondays. Likely some random daily tracking posts too.
For me this challenge is about focus and consistency. It's about holding myself accountable and not getting complacent and back-sliding (as I've always done). It's about pushing past this 'wall' and finding out (for the first time in my adult life) what's on the other side. It's about fitness being forever and not a destination on the scale.
Anyone interested in joining me and challenging themselves is more than welcome! I will be logging my workouts in my dailymile and tweeting them from there using the hashtag #30DayNoRepeat. Feel free to use that hashtag if you choose to play along, or link-up your posts in the comments of my weekly recap posts if you blog about it. I would love company.
I believe that I can make it past this point that has tripped me up my entire adult life. Not just make it past, but blow this 'wall' to pieces. I truly believe that life is all about the choices. I choose to push on, and I choose to make progress instead of sliding back into the yo-yo pattern of my past.
