Since going Paleo my family has fallen even more in love with our grill. Paleo and grilling just work well together. The past couple of years I've even been stepping outside my grilling comfort zone more and more. Grilling things I'd never thought to have grilled before and trying new flavor combinations. I have to say I'm pretty thrilled with the results of most of my flavor experiments. In the past I'd never have thought to grill fruit, but it's amazing. Grilling fruit and adding it to traditionally savory dishes? Brilliant. Oh yes, and? New rule: every burger recipe for the rest of forever must contain grilled pineapple. OK, maybe more of a guideline. It's a seriously delicious combination though. This Smoky Grilled Pineapple Burger is always a crowd-pleaser at my house. November just flew! So, how'd I do on those November process goals? Well, I did amazing on the Starting Strength Program and pretty crappy on getting my walks in. My November goals were...
As I said, I did amazing with the lifting (see those results here) and only got in a handful of shorter walks. As for my keto thanksgiving goal, I accomplished that easily and felt great about it.
So, for December my goals (as pictured at the top of this post) are:
- Lift MWF
- Walk Twice a Week
Considering that Christmas and our homeschool break are coming up, and I'm working on launching a podcast, and... really my focus is building muscle right now, I'm keeping my focus on lifting and minimizing my walk goal to something more reasonable. (Did you see me slip that big news in there? More coming soon!) So, aiming for twice a week on my walks and leaving the lifting schedule the same.
My lifting workouts currently look like this:
5 minutes warm-up on the rower as well as some hip circles and leg swings. Then, I move on to the Starting Strength Program which alternates between Squat, Bench, Deadlift workouts and Squat, Press, Deadlift workouts. Simple. Effective. Really enjoying them.
My nutrition is pretty on point right now, so again no goals there really. For those who are curious though, I'm getting right around 30 grams of carbs, 150ish grams of protein, and keeping it paleo (with a little dairy) as always. Those are my general goals for my eating currently.
