Since going Paleo my family has fallen even more in love with our grill. Paleo and grilling just work well together. The past couple of years I've even been stepping outside my grilling comfort zone more and more. Grilling things I'd never thought to have grilled before and trying new flavor combinations. I have to say I'm pretty thrilled with the results of most of my flavor experiments. In the past I'd never have thought to grill fruit, but it's amazing. Grilling fruit and adding it to traditionally savory dishes? Brilliant. Oh yes, and? New rule: every burger recipe for the rest of forever must contain grilled pineapple. OK, maybe more of a guideline. It's a seriously delicious combination though. This Smoky Grilled Pineapple Burger is always a crowd-pleaser at my house. It's not only Paleo, but Whole30, glutenfree, lower carb, and clean eating friendly. I promise you won't miss the bun! paleo, grilled pineapple burger, smoky
Hopped on the scale feeling rather hopeful this morning...and it said 180.5. That is up 1.5 from last week. Best part? I giggled. Yep, giggled. It seemed almost ridiculous it would show a gain after my awesome week. This was a stressful week and I still worked out hard and counted my calories. Success. I did everything right, even drank my water. So what if the scale is disagreeing at the moment? It can't hold out forever!
So, it didn't put me in a bad mood, and I am not going over and over my week in my head trying to figure out what the heck. I am shrugging my shoulders and getting back to work! Like the pic says, What Would Jillian Michaels Make Me Do?
Have an awesome Sunday!
Good attitude! You likely have a monster loss building up!
ReplyDeleteGood job on not letting that scale get you down. If you know you had a great week you will eventually see the results! :) STAY POSITIVE! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great attitude. Even though the scale didn't cooperate doesn't mean you haven't lost. Measurements don't lie, scales do!
ReplyDeleteGREAT attitude girl!
ReplyDeleteI like the wwjmmmd :) Thats cute. I will have to think of that from time to time too.
Have another FAB week. I bet the next weigh in will show the results from this past week as well. Sometimes it doesnt move or goes up a tad but then the next week is awesome. Kinda like the biggest loser show. So just keep on rocking it!
Good for you! Mine inched up too. I didn't giggle, and I did feel a bit depressed, but I know that it is the cycle of up and down and that the general direction is still going down and I am still doing things right.
ReplyDeleteWhat WOULD she make you do?
Soooo glad you didn't let it get you down !! Keep up the hard work and Congrats !
ReplyDeleteoh thats so clever, I was wondering what that acronym was.. hahaha love it.
ReplyDeleteGreat response. Me...sledgehammer here I come...lol.
ReplyDeleteGood job. You're right. It can't hold out forever! I'm impressed that you're doing so well.
ReplyDeleteI love it! Hahaha- I'm going to have to remember what WWJMMMD means...so I can use it against myself. Nothing like a good butt kick! Good luck this week!
ReplyDeleteYou go, Girl! No darn old sticky scale is going to get you down! Superb attitude, and cute acronym.
ReplyDeleteREALLY like WWJMMMD...might have to have some bracelets printed up... :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a fantastic attitude!
ReplyDeletewho is this "jillian" of whom you speak? :)
ReplyDeleteand ME? Id tell you to keep doing what you are doing...you are SO SO SO on the right path woman.
It all just (le sigh) takes freakin time.
Carla
Jillian would work the hell outta ya, then cause you an exercise throw-up. But she's cool with me.
ReplyDeleteOh boy, I need a dose of your attitude and confidence, because that would have catipulted me into a day of self-loathing and pity! I'm glad you are using this experience to make you more determined. However, if you are doing awesome, it's probably those good old factors: gaining muscle, retaining water, TOM, or cortisol. Or all of the above. Yay for being proud of your accomplishments and NOT letting the scale tell you how you've done!!
ReplyDeletesorry for the gain but that was a funny post :)
ReplyDeleteLoves it! Had that been me (which, incidentally it has been so many times in recent weeks) I'd have sulked and gone to eat chocolate! However, yours in undoubtedly the right approach and I intend to remember your post the next time my scales hate me...
ReplyDeleteMaybe you'll get a double dropper next time you weigh in? Here's hoping!
I need to adopt that attitude. I darn near threw the scale out of the window last Saturday @ WW and I actually had a loss. I didn't like the number so I sulked for the WW meeting and the rest of the weekend. I guess I need an attitude adjustment.
