Since going Paleo my family has fallen even more in love with our grill. Paleo and grilling just work well together. The past couple of years I've even been stepping outside my grilling comfort zone more and more. Grilling things I'd never thought to have grilled before and trying new flavor combinations. I have to say I'm pretty thrilled with the results of most of my flavor experiments. In the past I'd never have thought to grill fruit, but it's amazing. Grilling fruit and adding it to traditionally savory dishes? Brilliant. Oh yes, and? New rule: every burger recipe for the rest of forever must contain grilled pineapple. OK, maybe more of a guideline. It's a seriously delicious combination though. This Smoky Grilled Pineapple Burger is always a crowd-pleaser at my house. It's not only Paleo, but Whole30, glutenfree, lower carb, and clean eating friendly. I promise you won't miss the bun! paleo, grilled pineapple burger, smoky
Smoothie bowls are my go to breakfast lately. They're just such a quick and easy way to get some protein, fruit, veggies, and even superfoods (think matcha green tea, beets, berries, greens...) into my mornings. As the weather continues to warm up they will pretty much be a staple for me.
I like to keep my breakfasts simple, quick, and easy. No 20 ingredient smoothie bowls for this girl! I mean, I applaud folks that are awake enough for that in the morning, but that isn't happening over here. Most of my smoothie bowls are 5 ingredients or less. I try to focus on maximum nutrition with minimum ingredients.
Eating the same simple things every day doesn't have to be the SAME THING every day though! There's so much you can do with a smoothie bowl. Start with a "milk" of choice (I usually do
So Delicious Unsweetened Vanilla Coconut Milk, So Delicious Unsweetened Vanilla Cashew Milk, or
Milkadamia Unsweetened Macadamia Milk), then add whatever frozen fruits, veggies and/or greens you have on hand. Top with things like coconut flakes, cacao nibs, chia seeds, diced fruit, dried fruit, chopped nuts, goji berries, or even some gluten-free cookies for a treat! YUM.
There are infinite combinations to try! Plus, healthy can feel a little indulgent too...
Like this Apple Cinnamon Snickerdoodle Smoothie Bowl! It's kind of like having dessert for breakfast, but it's gluten-free and packed with fruit and protein. This smoothie bowl recipe is a really great breakfast option when you want something a little sweet, but don't exactly want to break out the chocolate cake.
A huge thank you to Wild Foods for providing protein powder for this recipe!
Apple Cinnamon Snickerdoodle Smoothie Bowl

2 scoops Creamy Vanilla Wild Whey
1/2 tsp Organic Saigon Cinnamon

Chopped apple pieces for topping (optional)

Notes
I used to be able to find frozen apples at the grocery store when I lived in Colorado. They were such a time saver! However, I haven't been able to find them here in Idaho yet; so I slice, peel, and freeze Pink Lady apples ahead for this recipe.
Go crazy with the toppings here! Whatever you like. Chopped nuts (organic walnuts or raw pecans are pretty yummy with this), coconut flakes, cashew butter, cacao nibs...
