Since going Paleo my family has fallen even more in love with our grill. Paleo and grilling just work well together. The past couple of years I've even been stepping outside my grilling comfort zone more and more. Grilling things I'd never thought to have grilled before and trying new flavor combinations. I have to say I'm pretty thrilled with the results of most of my flavor experiments. In the past I'd never have thought to grill fruit, but it's amazing. Grilling fruit and adding it to traditionally savory dishes? Brilliant. Oh yes, and? New rule: every burger recipe for the rest of forever must contain grilled pineapple. OK, maybe more of a guideline. It's a seriously delicious combination though. This Smoky Grilled Pineapple Burger is always a crowd-pleaser at my house. It's not only Paleo, but Whole30, glutenfree, lower carb, and clean eating friendly. I promise you won't miss the bun! paleo, grilled pineapple burger, smoky
Are you finished with your shopping? If not, don't fear. I have some creative last minute gift ideas for everyone in your fit family. Because fitness starts at home, right?
A great gift for kids, teens, or the whole family is XBOX Kinect or Wii games. Now, most people think video games and automatically think couch potatoes. Not anymore. We have both systems and you should see us play some of these games. They're great to burn off some energy when we're cooped up during a Colorado snow storm! There is something for every member of the family and you can find them at a Target, Walmart, etc.
Another great fit gift for the entire family is a zoo membership. They can get out and get some exercise and fresh air any time, all year long this way. My favorite zoo is the Cheyenne Mountain zoo. There's 'mountain' in the name for a reason! Talk about a fun workout. You can purchase most memberships online and just print something out or write the info in a card to give. Or try something more fun: wrap up a little stuffed animal with a note tied around it.
A great fit gift for kids is a sled! You can pick them up most anywhere and they provide hours of winter activity. Where it snows, obviously.
An ipod is a great gift for anyone in the family. There's so many to choose from. From this:
If there's a weights enthusiast on your list, these:
Or some chrome dumbbells. Lots of places carry those and they're awesome.
If your only option is a gift card, there's still plenty of options, lots of places to choose from. itunes gift cards are great. Who couldn't use new songs for their workout playlist? Sporting goods stores, like Dicks or Sports Authority are great too. For the runner in your life get a gift card to a local running store. They'll love it, promise. Locally we have The Colorado Running Company and Boulder Running Company.
Get creative! Last minute does not have to mean cheesy or lame. ;) Happy shopping.
Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored post. I did receive Family Game Night 4 from the PR company and Zumba for Kinect at fitbloggin. All opinions are (as always) honest and my own.

I have this for the XBOX 360 and LOVE it! |
If they already have an XBOX 360, but not a Kinect. My little brother had to come upstairs and take a break from playing these games. He was too winded. Great set. |

If you have a runner in the family I highly suggest a heart rate watch that tracks distance and pace. Or a GPS watch. They'll love you forever! You can pick one up at any sporting goods store, like Dicks, or even Sears and Target carry some.
I have this one (in bright orange) and love it! |
I don't have one of these, but have drooled over them for a while. |
