Since going Paleo my family has fallen even more in love with our grill. Paleo and grilling just work well together. The past couple of years I've even been stepping outside my grilling comfort zone more and more. Grilling things I'd never thought to have grilled before and trying new flavor combinations. I have to say I'm pretty thrilled with the results of most of my flavor experiments. In the past I'd never have thought to grill fruit, but it's amazing. Grilling fruit and adding it to traditionally savory dishes? Brilliant. Oh yes, and? New rule: every burger recipe for the rest of forever must contain grilled pineapple. OK, maybe more of a guideline. It's a seriously delicious combination though. This Smoky Grilled Pineapple Burger is always a crowd-pleaser at my house. It's not only Paleo, but Whole30, glutenfree, lower carb, and clean eating friendly. I promise you won't miss the bun! paleo, grilled pineapple burger, smoky
The title of this post was almost: I am perplexed. Random, but do you watch The Upside Down Show? The word perplexed will forever remind me of that show. Anyway, it was almost the title of the post because when I got up and weighed this morning I was perplexed! I just knew the scale had moved this week. Nope. Moving on...

After taking my measurements I felt better, still perplexed, but better. While the scale is still not going down I am glad that I take measurements also. My waist, thigh, and hip measurements all went down again. So, I am making progress. Whether the scale wants to tell me so or not! If you are contemplating trying Paleo or Primal I highly recommend taking your measurements also.
This week has gone great. I am tracking 4 to 5 days a week on My Fitness Pal. I take a couple of days off (still eating the same, just not tracking) mostly so that I'm not obsessing. After my 5k fiasco I am trying to be much more consistent with my workouts. It was a huge wake up call. My here and there workouts are not equating to the level of fitness I am used to. So far this week I took Sunday off, did weights (Chalean Extreme) Monday, and walked 3 miles Tuesday. I've decided to schedule my workouts a week at a time; I am just someone who does better with a plan. But that's a whole other post.
You can still see my Going Primal tracking vlogs on my you tube channel or posts at my tracking blog if you're interested in daily stuff like what I'm eating, etc.
Also, we've decided to keep Awesome by August going all year. Awesome All Year? No prizes. Just a page for support, encouragement, and accountability. We will weigh in on Wednesdays. Feel free to join us!
you're doing great! I'm on week 3 of paleo. After the first week I lost quite a bit of water weight. After last week, I was UP in weight. Not going to stress about it as I know my food and workouts are on plan 100%. I'll measure at the end of the 30 days, but I completely know how perplexing it is. I'm glad someone warned me about it so I didn't freak out when I got on the scale!
ReplyDeleteWoW!! This is great!!! I quite like the blog!! loads easy, doesnt drag out.....
ReplyDeletegreat weight loss!! very impressive!!
So glad things are going well with the diet. I read that you have been walking and jogging but do you follow a workout plan for your weight training or just go to the gym?
ReplyDeleteerin, I'm sort of going back to ChaLean Extreme. Will probably mix up the cardio and may not follow it exactly (may throw in some Cathe too), but for weights that the plan right now. Just started this week though.
