Since going Paleo my family has fallen even more in love with our grill. Paleo and grilling just work well together. The past couple of years I've even been stepping outside my grilling comfort zone more and more. Grilling things I'd never thought to have grilled before and trying new flavor combinations. I have to say I'm pretty thrilled with the results of most of my flavor experiments. In the past I'd never have thought to grill fruit, but it's amazing. Grilling fruit and adding it to traditionally savory dishes? Brilliant. Oh yes, and? New rule: every burger recipe for the rest of forever must contain grilled pineapple. OK, maybe more of a guideline. It's a seriously delicious combination though. This Smoky Grilled Pineapple Burger is always a crowd-pleaser at my house. It's not only Paleo, but Whole30, glutenfree, lower carb, and clean eating friendly. I promise you won't miss the bun! paleo, grilled pineapple burger, smoky
I decided I wanted to post more before pics. The before pics I've posted thus far are from when I started this blog. I was already well on my way in the weight loss process by then though.
I have hunted and hunted. I am having a heck of a time finding ANY. I found these really fuzzy ones. Me at 204.5 on the left and 200 on the right. The only reason I had these is because I took them for Sparkpeople.
Crazy how much I have always hidden from the camera!
No more hiding from the camera. I want to be in pics with my kids. I don't want to look back at family albums and NOT be in them.
I know some of me at my highest weight, about 226, exist. I will keep hunting!
Do you hide from the camera?

I used to hide from the camera, too. I still do sometimes, but it's a bit easier to convince me to get in the shot!
ReplyDeleteI did. Even when think I never liked how I looked in photos. Then I realized that there were no family photos in our albums and I needed to get over myself and be in there too. But I try tricks to look thinner:)
ReplyDeleteIt's not too late. Are you kids old enough to take pictures? They'd probably love taking a few of you.
ReplyDeleteI so hide from the camera. Sitings of Big Foot are more common.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I don't tend to hide from the camera (I'm normally the one taking photos) when a picture of me is taken I often wish that I had hidden (bloated face, double chin, no makeup on!!)!!! BUT seeing the photos is a good reminder as to why I am working towards a healthier life style. I may never be a size 8 or less but for goodness sake I could at least be happy and upbeat!!
ReplyDeleteI hid from the camera all the time when I was obese. Now, at 100lbs lighter, I seem to be getting my picture taken all the time. I still look at new pictures and think that it really isnt me. My mind is still catching up to my loss. I kinda wish I wouldn't have hid so much from the camera back in the day because it would be interesting to look at them now and see all my progress.
ReplyDeleteI never really hid from the camera, but didn't like what I saw!
ReplyDeleteKeep searching - I love before and afters.
I would much rather be the picture taker back in the day OR if I was in the picture I would crop myself out if it was an unflattering shot OR remove the body part I disliked. lol Now I don;t mind so much, but once in a while ( like last Sunday) I see stuff I dislike.
ReplyDeleteAs a scrapbooker I made sure that WHEN I was in the picture I looked good (well as good as I could...LOL) But I normally took the photos.
ReplyDeleteI am the queen of taking flattering pictures... and I'm good at hiding in the back. I have just this year started to take pics so I can document my progress and show the good I'm doing, it's tough but I think it's worth it.
ReplyDeleteI totally hid from the camera. I can flip through our albums and it's kind of sad. I don't do that anymore...I would like my kids to know I'm actually at all the events that we have pictures of them at...
ReplyDeleteForget about hiding from the camera, once I noticed I was hiding from mirrors a while ago now. It is a wonderful feeling not to run away from yourself. Hope to see a lot more new photos from you =)
ReplyDeleteI totally used to hide from the camera! I had a way hard time finding before pics! Can't wait to see more photos!
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking the other day what a lack of photos of me there are with my kids. That is going to change!!
ReplyDeleteoh I can sooo relate.. I did the before pics on my blog and really struggled to find any. I now make sure there are tons of pics of my progress. . so I'll always have them. Congrats to you on taking lots of pics with your kids & fam.. you deserve to be in the spotlight of your life!
ReplyDeleteyes.
ReplyDeleteperiod.
I was extremely good at dodging the camera as well! Rather annoying now though!
