Since going Paleo my family has fallen even more in love with our grill. Paleo and grilling just work well together. The past couple of years I've even been stepping outside my grilling comfort zone more and more. Grilling things I'd never thought to have grilled before and trying new flavor combinations. I have to say I'm pretty thrilled with the results of most of my flavor experiments. In the past I'd never have thought to grill fruit, but it's amazing. Grilling fruit and adding it to traditionally savory dishes? Brilliant. Oh yes, and? New rule: every burger recipe for the rest of forever must contain grilled pineapple. OK, maybe more of a guideline. It's a seriously delicious combination though. This Smoky Grilled Pineapple Burger is always a crowd-pleaser at my house. It's not only Paleo, but Whole30, glutenfree, lower carb, and clean eating friendly. I promise you won't miss the bun! paleo, grilled pineapple burger, smoky...
The nice folks over at JayRobb.com sent me a package of their products to review..I'm going to share some of that swag with one lucky reader, but first, a little about their products.
First my favorite, Jay Robb Whey Protein.
From JayRobb.com:

I love their whey protein. It is what I will be using from now on, that's how much I love it! Jay Robb Whey Protein is everything I was looking for in a whey protein and more. I love that it's 25 grams of protein per serving and contains stevia, then add to that the fact it comes from grass fed cows not treated with rBGH and I'm a happy blogger!
I've always been a vanilla whey protein kinda girl, but fell in love with their strawberry, yum and yum. I was impressed at the variety they offer in flavors. They have: Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, Pina Colada, and Tropical Dreamsicle. All the flavors were delicious.
I always feel my best when my protein intake is high. That isn't always an easy task to accomplish as a busy homeschooling/blogging/life livin' mom. I love that whey protein is so versatile. I enjoyed Jay Robb whey protein in my smoothie recipes. You can also add it to your oatmeal or use it in protein pancakes. I've even dabbled in adding it to my baking. Seriously, the possibilities are endless.
I also tried their protein bars. Again from JayRobb.com:
I've raised the bar on bars and created the JayBAR—a great tasting high protein bar made with organic ingredients. JayBars are formulated without sugar, corn syrup, casein, artificial sweeteners, maltitol, acesulfame-K, evaporated cane juice, aspartame, or sucralose.
I liked these, I could see myself packing them for long runs if I train for a marathon again. I appreciate that these contain agave nectar. I think it's awesome they're making a protein bar without all the scary stuff you find in many others.
The next product I tried was Jay Robb egg white protein. From their site:

I have been dabbling at the Paleo Diet and more so Primal Blueprint. This would be a good fit for these diets. I liked it, it's a little different than the whey protein I'm used to. Tastes great though and I love that it comes from chickens not treated with hormones.
The last product I got to try was their shaker bottle. One word: awesome. This was my second favorite product. It really is a great shaker, not like some of the cheapy ones I've tried before.
Overall I am thrilled with all the Jay Robb products I tried and will continue using them myself. Two things I appreciate most about Jay Robb:
- I appreciate that this company has gone above and beyond with their products in keeping out many of the junk ingredients I avoid like sucralose and corn syrup.
- I love that they have gone a step further to use only animal sources that haven't been subjected to things like rBGH. Check out their site for more info.

I admit, I am curious about the egg white powder!
ReplyDeleteI love Jay Robb's whey protein powder, it is by far the best-tasting stuff out there. I'd love to try the protein bars, too!
ReplyDeleteI've never tried protein powder before and my trainer has been telling me that I need to get on it and start using it. My first time, I would keep it really simple with a container of vanilla. As long as I can put it in smoothies and snacks for after I workout, I should be good to go! :)
ReplyDeleteP.S. I'm glad you're really passionate about finding a good protein powder with quality ingredients so the rest of us can benefit from it!
I have not tried any of their powders but I've seen it over at GNC, where I usually purchase my protein stuff. I would be really excited to try their egg white powder as it's something I've never seen before!
ReplyDeleteI tweeted!
