Since going Paleo my family has fallen even more in love with our grill. Paleo and grilling just work well together. The past couple of years I've even been stepping outside my grilling comfort zone more and more. Grilling things I'd never thought to have grilled before and trying new flavor combinations. I have to say I'm pretty thrilled with the results of most of my flavor experiments. In the past I'd never have thought to grill fruit, but it's amazing. Grilling fruit and adding it to traditionally savory dishes? Brilliant. Oh yes, and? New rule: every burger recipe for the rest of forever must contain grilled pineapple. OK, maybe more of a guideline. It's a seriously delicious combination though. This Smoky Grilled Pineapple Burger is always a crowd-pleaser at my house. It's not only Paleo, but Whole30, glutenfree, lower carb, and clean eating friendly. I promise you won't miss the bun! paleo, grilled pineapple burger, smoky
A couple blog/twitter friends have asked me if I'm joining the Primal Blueprint 30 day challenge. I've spoken some on the blog about Primal and Paleo eating. I have been struggling with either, or frankly any type of healthy eating, lately. This weekend included many a junky-brownie-sundae-type-foods. The crazy thing is this: when I eat very many carbs, especially sugar and breads, I feel like crap! So why do I eat them?
The 30 day challenge is basically a kick in the pants to get motivated. I finished reading The Primal Blueprint and actually think I will get along well with the eating plan to lose weight. I'll post more on the book and what it's all about later, but..
I contemplated all day and finally decided...I'm in.

I'll cheer you on! I don't do primal, but I do very low carbs, on the low end of the primal carbohydrate curve (under 50 per day).
ReplyDeleteNice! It's always fun to try something new. I know tons of people doing the primal/paleo and most of them love it. Personally, I like my chocolate and carbs (white rice yum) BUT I can see the benefits of moderating the carbs.
ReplyDeleteYOU'VE GOT THIS KAT!
Ill cheer you on too.
ReplyDeletejoining in a little misft'y way as Im not 100% primal.
I'm totally IN! Everything about primal makes it sound as though it is a way of eating designed specifically for me! Hoping for good things this month and will cheer you on!
ReplyDeleteYay!! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm doing the challenge too! I've been very curious about "going primal" for a while now, and figured this challenge would be the perfect excuse to finally go for it!
ReplyDeleteIt's been awhile since I've commented. I hope you're doing well. Wait..isn't that half coming up...REALLY soon?!?!
ReplyDeleteMy thing about the whole primal/paleo diet is that both food and our bodies have both evolved concurrently....
ReplyDeletewe haven't evolved to the point our bodies can handle junk (and nor should they) but not all modern food is bad. I mean, you do like your milk pasteurized, right?
hey!! you have a wonderful blog. thanks for sharing your weight lost progress here. keep it up and never give up. you can do it.
