Since going Paleo my family has fallen even more in love with our grill. Paleo and grilling just work well together. The past couple of years I've even been stepping outside my grilling comfort zone more and more. Grilling things I'd never thought to have grilled before and trying new flavor combinations. I have to say I'm pretty thrilled with the results of most of my flavor experiments. In the past I'd never have thought to grill fruit, but it's amazing. Grilling fruit and adding it to traditionally savory dishes? Brilliant. Oh yes, and? New rule: every burger recipe for the rest of forever must contain grilled pineapple. OK, maybe more of a guideline. It's a seriously delicious combination though. This Smoky Grilled Pineapple Burger is always a crowd-pleaser at my house. It's not only Paleo, but Whole30, glutenfree, lower carb, and clean eating friendly. I promise you won't miss the bun! paleo, grilled pineapple burger, smoky
I have been searching for quite some time now for the perfect headband to run in. We're talking years here.
Then, I gave up on the perfect headband and settled for searching for one that would at least stay on my head through an entire run!
I like to put my hair in a pony tail when I run, then put a headband on to keep my bangs out of my face.
I've tried pretty much everything from Target and Walmart and even more expensive headbands. All of them go flinging off my head some time mid-run. Very annoying, not to mention a waste of money.
I have bought four or five different varieties and even resorted to tying some of the thinner ones in knots to make them tighter...no luck. I tried using barrets to keep them in place...nope. They ALL would fly off at some point. I began to wonder if I just had a funny shaped head! For my marathon I wound up spraying the heck out of my bangs with hair spray to keep them out of my face...ew.
SweatyBands.com sent me these samples for review |
In comes the Sweaty Band!
From SweatyBands.com:
We’ve turned perspiration into a fashion sensation! Sweaty Bands are the ultimate sports and fitness headband, uniquely designed for women and girls who want to show their style, even when they sweat a while! Slip into one today and become a Sweaty Bands believer.
And a believer I am! I'm in love. Seriously I cannot say enough good things about these headbands. I have really put these through their paces and they are truly awesome. I've worn them for everything from an 8 mile run to an intense 60 minute Turbo Fire workout. They stay put. I wear them to run, I wear them to do my strength training, heck I wear the wider one to go shopping. I'm hooked.
This is my favorite Sweaty Band post-run |
The perfect headband at last. No need to settle. Sweaty Bands are cute, they're comfortable, they absorb sweat, and....they stay on my head! Yay for Sweaty Bands! I enthusiastically give these 5 stars.
Disclaimer: SweatyBands.com provided me with samples to review. As always the opinions I express on my blog are 100% my own and cannot be bought.
see? YAY for reviews of things you love.
ReplyDeletesadly I need not a band. my hair is so thin, errrrr, "fine" I, well, need not a band.
anything will do :)
I'm with Miz. I'm could be a poster girl for female pattern baldness. Headbands will not stay on my head. But good to know! I have some running buddies with thick manes. :)
ReplyDeleteDitto with Miz and Jen. My hair has gotten so much thinner as I've gotten older (which really sucks. LOL) Those bands sound pretty neat though. :)
ReplyDeleteWhile I definitely don't have thin hair, I would think these still may work for you...would be curious to hear thoughts from someone with thin hair that's tried them.
ReplyDeleteThese sound fantastic. I have a collection of failed headbands that cannot withstand my workouts...
ReplyDeleteI am glad that you found something that works! There is nothing worse than wanting something specific and not being able to find it!
ReplyDeleteI really want to find a good headband for when I get back to more intense workouts after the baby. I only ever used the thin ones you can get at super stores and they always a) hurt my head and b) fall off fast.
ReplyDeleteOooh, I've been wondering about these!
ReplyDeleteI currently use BondiBands, which I love, but they're not uber stylish (I look goofy wearing them!). Might have to try these out!
I've been getting so frustrated trying to find headbands that stay and are comfortable. I'm going to have to try those.
ReplyDeleteIf you like Sweaty Bands...try another headband that I found a Marathon Expo this past weekend in Mankato, MN!!! They are very similar to Sweaty Bands with holding back the sweat and staying put, but are fully adjustable! Yep, that's right you can buy a headband for yourself and I can share with my 6 year old daughter...all with a tightening or loosening of the elastic piece...and not only that...you should see their beautiful, crystal heart buttons that are attached to them! Check them out at www.wecoveryourhead.com and click on stores...then Punkeelove Headbands! They are my new FAVE!!!! Thanks for your site! LOVE IT!
