Since going Paleo my family has fallen even more in love with our grill. Paleo and grilling just work well together. The past couple of years I've even been stepping outside my grilling comfort zone more and more. Grilling things I'd never thought to have grilled before and trying new flavor combinations. I have to say I'm pretty thrilled with the results of most of my flavor experiments. In the past I'd never have thought to grill fruit, but it's amazing. Grilling fruit and adding it to traditionally savory dishes? Brilliant. Oh yes, and? New rule: every burger recipe for the rest of forever must contain grilled pineapple. OK, maybe more of a guideline. It's a seriously delicious combination though. This Smoky Grilled Pineapple Burger is always a crowd-pleaser at my house. It's not only Paleo, but Whole30, glutenfree, lower carb, and clean eating friendly. I promise you won't miss the bun! paleo, grilled pineapple burger, smoky...
The clouds have parted, the sun has shone down, and the hallelujah chorus has risen in the background...OK, maybe a little dramatic, but I feel so much better. It's just my 10th week, so I'm not out of the woods yet, BUT the last couple of days I've felt SO. MUCH. BETTER. It's amazing how we can take for granted just feeling well.
As you could probably tell from my lack of posting, weeks 8 and 9 were tough. The 'morning' sickness was so bad that I was pretty much out of commission for two weeks! Everything made me throw up. My husband did all of the cooking, grocery shopping, and dishes the entire time. The man deserves a medal. He even had to stay home a couple of days and homeschool the kids. I'm very thankful that he works for himself and had the option.
The main non-paleo food I've included the past few weeks is gluten-free cereal. As everything I used to eat for breakfast was completely grossing me out it was the best choice I could find. Until...
Just moving my body again feels amazing. I'm looking forward to some running soon. While I was laying on the couch the last two weeks I watched running documentaries...talk about missing it!
Oh, and speaking of running. I found this:
Isn't that the cutest thing? Someone whisper in Santa's ear...

My morning sickness arsenal: lemon water, Morning Wellness Tea, Preggie Pops, Tummy Drops, Happy Mama Spray, and peppermint oil. |
My eating the past two weeks has been terrible. Meat and eggs have completely grossed me out. I've pretty much gone for anything that sounded good when I was able to eat. (Oh yes, ice cream happened).
I've switched prenatal vitamins until the morning sickness passes. I'm using this one currently. It's only 1 pill compared to 4 of the whole food vitamin I was taking. It's just easier to make sure I keep it down that way. Rainbow light is offering 30% off their Prenatal One until December 1st! Follow the previous link and use code: Baby30 |
The awesome folks at beefreegf.com sent me samples of their Warrior Cereal. It has been the perfect solution for breakfast. It's not just gluten-free, but grain free and paleo-friendly. Not to mention delicious. I'm so thankful to find a paleo option that I can handle in the mornings!
Original Warrior Cereal and a little almond milk=perfection! Definitely will be stocking up on this stuff.
The last few days I've been back to my normal paleo eats and it feels awesome! I even managed to cook dinner the last two nights. I shall never again take for granted being able to cook meat without puking. ;)
Workouts the past two weeks were non-existent. I just couldn't even hack it. This week however I've done the stationary bike and a prenatal yoga DVD that I'm newly in love with.

How are you?? What have I missed while I was out of commision??
