Since going Paleo my family has fallen even more in love with our grill. Paleo and grilling just work well together. The past couple of years I've even been stepping outside my grilling comfort zone more and more. Grilling things I'd never thought to have grilled before and trying new flavor combinations. I have to say I'm pretty thrilled with the results of most of my flavor experiments. In the past I'd never have thought to grill fruit, but it's amazing. Grilling fruit and adding it to traditionally savory dishes? Brilliant. Oh yes, and? New rule: every burger recipe for the rest of forever must contain grilled pineapple. OK, maybe more of a guideline. It's a seriously delicious combination though. This Smoky Grilled Pineapple Burger is always a crowd-pleaser at my house. It's not only Paleo, but Whole30, glutenfree, lower carb, and clean eating friendly. I promise you won't miss the bun! paleo, grilled pineapple burger, smoky
Confession:
I’m a total smoothie junkie. There are days that I could eat them breakfast,
lunch, and dinner. I love to make my protein smoothies really thick, almost ice
cream shake-like. That way they seem more like a decadent treat than a boring
protein shake.
The secret
to the perfect thick, super yummy protein smoothie is frozen fruit and a great
tasting protein powder.
Lately
I’m obsessed with this Double Cherry Vanilla Protein Shake…
Ingredients:
½
cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1
scoop of your favorite vanilla whey protein powder
1
tablespoon Organic Tart Cherry Juice Concentrate (concentrate, not regular juice)
1
cup frozen cherries
Directions:
In
your blender, blend the almond milk, protein powder, and Tart Cherry Juice
Concentrate on low for about 20 to 30 seconds.
Stop once and scrape the sides
with a spatula (sometimes the protein powder can stick to the sides).
Next, add
in the frozen cherries and blend on low, working up to medium high.
Blend until
it reaches a smooth, shake-like consistency.
Enjoy!
What’s your favorite protein powder??
