Since going Paleo my family has fallen even more in love with our grill. Paleo and grilling just work well together. The past couple of years I've even been stepping outside my grilling comfort zone more and more. Grilling things I'd never thought to have grilled before and trying new flavor combinations. I have to say I'm pretty thrilled with the results of most of my flavor experiments. In the past I'd never have thought to grill fruit, but it's amazing. Grilling fruit and adding it to traditionally savory dishes? Brilliant. Oh yes, and? New rule: every burger recipe for the rest of forever must contain grilled pineapple. OK, maybe more of a guideline. It's a seriously delicious combination though. This Smoky Grilled Pineapple Burger is always a crowd-pleaser at my house. It's not only Paleo, but Whole30, glutenfree, lower carb, and clean eating friendly. I promise you won't miss the bun! paleo, grilled pineapple burger, smoky
After reading through the comments on my post yesterday I decided I would do a nightly post of everything I eat. I will take pics of absolutely anything that I consume except water. I am going to do it for a week, and then decide if I want to keep doing it.
I have to say, it's helping already! I really think about what I choose to eat knowing I have to take a picture and put it all together in a post on here. I am so much more mindful. I know I won't do this forever, but it's good accountability for me for right now. I have to learn to make good choices for life, this is simply a crutch for now.
It's a little humorous because I feel like I need to explain what I eat. Like, yes, I like strong coffee with lots of cream and am totally OK spending that many calories on it, or...this isn't a typical day, sure need to go grocery shopping, usually there are a few smoothies in there. Weird.
Anyway, day 1 of my food post accountability project.

I love the accountability of taking pictures of my food, hence my blog!!! It makes me think, do I want to take a picture of that and post it?? Has helped me soo much!! Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I also do not think you eat weird lol. This gets me thinking about doing something similar. I would have not eaten what I did at lunch had I been posting pictures to the blog OMG!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I could ever post what I eat. I would probably make people crave chocolate...lol...or wheat thins!!
ReplyDeleteYou don't eat weird...looks pretty healthy to me.
Oikos is supposed to be the best yogurt ever!!!! Is it?
ReplyDeleteI've started a food blog recently, and also photograph and post everything i eat, so I definitely went through the same thinking process!!!!!!
Must try the Oikos. I eat those Earthgrains Thin Buns, too! I love the name "thin buns".
ReplyDeleteHowdy! Just wanted to give my 2 cents worth. :) It looks to me like not very much food. I am doing WW and one of my biggest fears is whether or not I will be able to survive on the incredibly shrinking points I get each day. So far so good, but what about 50 pounds from now. Ack! :) Anyway, thanks for sharing. Stop by my blog sometime and I'll have tea while you 1/2 and 1/2 it up. :) Hugs, Kirsten
ReplyDeleteI would also say that that's not a whole lot of food! Plus maybe a few more fruit and veggies? I love refried beans though and that photo's made me hungry!!
ReplyDeletehmmm.
ReplyDeletemy thoughts? Id eat more :)
clean calories---but more.
just my .02 for what its worth!

I like taking pictures and documenting my food. I've also put my food into Livestrong, so I can see if it is balanced. I can see if I am getting enough protein or fiber, or too much sugar. I recommend that, if you are tracking.
ReplyDeleteAlso, It didn't look like you had a lot of food, especially around dinner....It didn't look like it added up to 1300 calories. Also, If you work out, do you eat more?
Keep it up!

I don't think there is anything weird about what you eat. I love to track and write down my food, take photos, etc., but I'm a nerd like that. I love working out the numbers at the end of the week. It really helps me see where I can improve and where I really did a great job. Some people don't like really food-specific blog posts, but I don't care, I put what I want on my blog and the people who like it will read it :)
ReplyDeleteI'll only ask, where's all your veggies? and maybe a different fruit than 2 apples. unless of course you want to get the old too-many-apples-quick-step ;-)
no its not weird a lot of people seem to do that. i think its kinda interesting to see what others eat. but i like food. those thin bun thingies look interesting.
