Since going Paleo my family has fallen even more in love with our grill. Paleo and grilling just work well together. The past couple of years I've even been stepping outside my grilling comfort zone more and more. Grilling things I'd never thought to have grilled before and trying new flavor combinations. I have to say I'm pretty thrilled with the results of most of my flavor experiments. In the past I'd never have thought to grill fruit, but it's amazing. Grilling fruit and adding it to traditionally savory dishes? Brilliant. Oh yes, and? New rule: every burger recipe for the rest of forever must contain grilled pineapple. OK, maybe more of a guideline. It's a seriously delicious combination though. This Smoky Grilled Pineapple Burger is always a crowd-pleaser at my house. It's not only Paleo, but Whole30, glutenfree, lower carb, and clean eating friendly. I promise you won't miss the bun! paleo, grilled pineapple burger, smoky
This is my 200th Post, woooo! Thank you all for sticking around. I had hoped to do another giveaway, but couldn't find any sponsors, boo. But you can still enter my birthday giveaway to win The Amazing Adventures of Dietgirl or a signed copy of Half-Assed until July 1st.
As I said in my last post, I headed out shopping on my birthday hunting for cheap, yet functional running clothes, first...Walmart:
Disappointed, maybe need to go at the beginning of a season?
Skipped Target, whoops, will try them next time.
Next was JCPenney. Jackpot. Lots of 50% off sales and Doorbuster Specials. Regular price of the gear I got was double or more the price I paid.
Now for the haul, this is what I got at JCPenney:
I'll keep ya posted on how the gear works out and will be hitting up Target and Ross, etc for future posts in this series!
Do you think $60 is too much for two running outfits..or a good deal?

for me it all depends on how long they last!!
ReplyDeletebut Id say deal.
Hm no special "gear" in this department yet...wanna get going good first. Love what you came up with though!
ReplyDeletegreat job, I wish it was easier to find workout stuff in my size. I end up wearing out the cute stuff and going back to the basic tanks and such. I feel like I can skimp on clothes, but my socks and shoes are super important.
ReplyDeleteSo so so cute!
ReplyDeleteWho cares if it's a deal? But really, it will depend on how they last, how little they stink etc. I think I'm definitely gonna get me a thrivnp shirt and pants next time. Soft and no stinkage.
Expensive though. I say, deal because I'm looking at spending at least that or even more.
I am blessed because I keep finding nike and such at my thrift store!! I think 60 is ok for them if the quality is good. I am a huge Lucy fan for the quality!
ReplyDeleteIf I was gonna sweat in clothing Id want to get budget friendly stuff too. guess that is why I don;t understand those Lulu-whatever you call them stores. lol :)
ReplyDeleteI like both of the outfits you got- cute! :)
I've been looking for an inexpensive running skirt! I didn't realize JCPenney had them! I'll have to check them out!
ReplyDeleteI say deal, for clothes that you wear when doing something you love, the cost shouldn't always be the bottom line. The skirt...LOVE it! Have always been into skorts as they call them, and think the stretchy material in a running skirt would make it so comfy and fun to run in!
ReplyDeleteHmmmm....
ReplyDeleteI still think it's pretty pricey, but look at the money that you saved. You and I both know that exercise stuff is just expensive. I tell ya...maybe we should create our own line!!! By the way...you MUST purchase some Body Glide if you're gonna run in a skirt....just sayin. Chaffing is NO BUENO!!!!
I love running skirts! I bought two last year at an REI sale. I would definitely say deal, especially if you really enjoy the clothes!
ReplyDelete@Mary I love Lucy too! I was pretty pumped about their summer sale!
Well 2 outfits so that’s 4 things so that’s only $15 each I think that’s a very good deal. I cant watch your videos cuz im at work. I like to shop for workout clothes at old navy. But I recently got a really comfy pair of yoga pants at victorias secret pink. Ive seen tons of workout clothes that are more than $60 just for one piece which I think is too much because all youre doing in them is sweating. Workouts arent for looking cute.
ReplyDeleteYou look cute in that navy set! I think you did pretty good, bargain-wise.
ReplyDeleteHi! I hear you on finding inexpensive workout clothes! I usually hit up Target, Old Navy and if I'm lucky I'll find something at Ross. I don't think you can go wrong with anything they have at Target. I think $60 for two outfits is a lot, but if its comfy then it can compensate. :) I really like your blog, btw! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the way you did this!! I so miss my regular shopping places, having trouble finding my way to good plus size(as I'm at that horrible-not really plus/not really regular size place) workout gear as I'm now in the UK and a bit lost as to shopping. This is a fantasti idea/way to do your post! I think you got a great deal for 60$! Enjoy them :-)
