Since going Paleo my family has fallen even more in love with our grill. Paleo and grilling just work well together. The past couple of years I've even been stepping outside my grilling comfort zone more and more. Grilling things I'd never thought to have grilled before and trying new flavor combinations. I have to say I'm pretty thrilled with the results of most of my flavor experiments. In the past I'd never have thought to grill fruit, but it's amazing. Grilling fruit and adding it to traditionally savory dishes? Brilliant. Oh yes, and? New rule: every burger recipe for the rest of forever must contain grilled pineapple. OK, maybe more of a guideline. It's a seriously delicious combination though. This Smoky Grilled Pineapple Burger is always a crowd-pleaser at my house. It's not only Paleo, but Whole30, glutenfree, lower carb, and clean eating friendly. I promise you won't miss the bun! paleo, grilled pineapple burger, smoky
How was your Thanksgiving?
Did you Turkey Trot with us??
I did. Things didn't go quite as planned, but I trotted! I intended to go down to the track and run outside, but when I got up it was 20 degrees outside. I chickened out and decided to just move my run to the treadmill. It was awesome. Took me about 37 minutes, but I was in no big hurry. Such an awesome way to start the holiday. I felt energized and prepared to make good choices. I think it even put me in a better mood for the day!
I really enjoyed all of your tweets about this, thanks everyone who participated! Let's do it again next year.
Now you, did you trot with us? Were you active somehow yesterday?
Yes..I trotted...not run..just trotted...How far..2.5 miles...my normal route with running burst in between.. Yes..it was cold but I bundled but I MOVED on Turkey day..and thought of all of those actually running a turkey trot..
ReplyDeleteDid not trot, but my husband and I rode 8 miles on our bikes. The weather in Louisiana allows one to wear shorts on Thanksgiving, so that wasn't a problem for us. It felt great to do some physical activity after eating a big lunch.
ReplyDeleteI trotted! well, slow trot / walk. I had to do it while I was at work, my day was just so jam-packed. But I am so excited that I did it and did it for me.
