Since going Paleo my family has fallen even more in love with our grill. Paleo and grilling just work well together. The past couple of years I've even been stepping outside my grilling comfort zone more and more. Grilling things I'd never thought to have grilled before and trying new flavor combinations. I have to say I'm pretty thrilled with the results of most of my flavor experiments. In the past I'd never have thought to grill fruit, but it's amazing. Grilling fruit and adding it to traditionally savory dishes? Brilliant. Oh yes, and? New rule: every burger recipe for the rest of forever must contain grilled pineapple. OK, maybe more of a guideline. It's a seriously delicious combination though. This Smoky Grilled Pineapple Burger is always a crowd-pleaser at my house. It's not only Paleo, but Whole30, glutenfree, lower carb, and clean eating friendly. I promise you won't miss the bun! paleo, grilled pineapple burger, smoky
Depending on how long you've been reading my blog you may or may not know that I was originally a weight loss blogger. (Comment below if you remember fitviews!)
If you click on my "My Story" page you'll read about my process of going from a size 22 to a size 8. You'll read about running, lifting weights, paleo... But what you won't see listed is one of the most important weight loss tools I used on my journey: community.
I truly believe that the amazing community I found among my fellow bloggers is the single most important factor of my lasting weight loss success.
When I first began blogging I had no idea that I'd find such an amazing, supportive, encouraging, wise, and caring community online.
From them I learned. With them I shared. Through them I found myself.
I fought obesity and won. A large part of that I owe to community. My online community provided a safe space for me to hash out all of my junk and become the me I was meant to be. I could never thank them enough.
Now that I've evolved into more of a health/fitness/paleo blogger, with less focus on weight loss, I still love my online community. I still view them as priceless. I've found life-long friends and count my online community as a major positive influence in my life.
I think most people underestimate the power of community. With community we have support, information, encouragement, and accountability. These things are priceless no matter your pursuit. That's why I love what Under Armour is doing with What's Beautiful. They're building an amazing community around sharing our fitness.
From the What's Beautiful Site:Together we’re redefining the female athlete by pushing beyond the brink every single day. Join us. Set your own personal goal. Then document your journey by posting videos and photos that tell your story from start to victory.
We’ll also continuously post challenges for you. But that’s just the beginning. Go above and beyond. Show us your stuff. Create your own challenges. Crush them. If you meet your goal, set a new one. Make it even bigger. Prove to everyone, and yourself, that you have more than what it takes.
Every week we'll give away Under Armour Swag Bags full of gear to women who are seriously bringing it. On or around November 6th we'll narrow it down to the top 20 finalists. Then, on or around November 27th, we’ll announce the 10 winning athletes who've documented the most impressive, motivated, monumental stories.
All 10 winners will be flown to Clearwater, Florida, in early 2013 to train and team up with the best. Elite UA trainers. Ultimate training sessions. Rejuvenating cool downs. Nutrition experts. And luxurious spa treatments. All at your disposal. This is where some of the top athletes in the world come to train. Now, you could too.

I firmly believe that we should make the effort to surround ourselves with positive people doing amazing things. What's Beautiful is an awesome place to do just that.
